Classic Crust Pizza, a new pizzeria in Phoenix, Arizona, opened for business Monday, February 2.

Classic Crust Pizza is owned and operated by husband-and-wife team, Alex and Angie Geiger, newcomers to the Phoenix restaurant market. Michael Johnson serves as executive chef and general manager. Alex and Michael started making pizza in a wood-fired oven mounted to the back of a 1957 Dodge pickup truck and quickly started looking for a restaurant space to bring their recipes to a bigger market.

Classic Crust Pizza offers hand-tossed New York–style pizza, wings, grinders, and salads. Local beers from Hess Brewing and San Tan Brewing and an ever-changing selection of wine round out the menu. Every hour is happy hour: All draft beer and wine refills are half-priced.

Lunch and dinner are served daily, with take-out and delivery options for the North Phoenix neighborhood. Pizza by the slice is offered during lunch.

"We take the time to make pizza the right way, letting the dough rise slowly giving it a combination of chewiness and crunch that can't be beat. We are serious about our crust," Alex Geiger says.

The new restaurant is decorated with hotrod art by artist Max Grundy. The art matches the neighborhood, which has myriad automotive and motorcycle shops nearby. Classic Crust Pizza will embrace the neighborhood with special nights for classic car and bike enthusiasts.
