Potbelly is making its Tulsa debut with a new shop opening Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Shops at St. James in South Tulsa. The opening marks the neighborhood sandwich brand’s third Oklahoma location and brings its oven-toasted sandwiches, hand-dipped shakes and good vibes to a new community
Located at the Shops at St. James, 10125 E. 81st St., the new Potbelly sits across from Tulsa Community College’s Southeast Campus and just off Highway 169. Serving college students and employees, nearby residents, and the surrounding business community, the shop offers the oven-toasted sandwiches the brand is known for, along with wraps, signature salads, hand-dipped shakes and freshly baked cookies.
The new shop is owned and operated by Tulsa residents John and Ashley Cook. The husband-and-wife team is bringing Potbelly to their hometown after first becoming familiar with the brand while living in Dallas, where they lived for several years before returning to Tulsa. Their personal connection to Potbelly and desire to build a business that could become an active part of the community ultimately led them to introduce the brand to the city.
“Potbelly became one of my favorite spots while I was living in Dallas, and it was something I missed when I moved back home,” said Cook. “Opening in Tulsa gives me the opportunity to share a brand I genuinely enjoy while creating a welcoming neighborhood spot where students, families and residents can gather over great food and good vibes.”
To celebrate the opening, Potbelly in Tulsa will host a grand opening on Friday, Oct. 16. The first 50 guests in line will receive Free Potbelly for a Year. Guests can also enjoy a ribbon-cutting and a Potbelly Perks Plinko game for chances to win exclusive merchandise, free food and other prizes.
The new shop will offer convenient options for lunch, dinner and everything in between. Regular operating hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Guests can dine in or order ahead for pickup through Potbelly.com or the Potbelly App. Catering and third-party delivery are also available.
