The Million Dollar Band has a new partner in town. Zaxbys, the fast-casual favorite serving Chicken Fingerz, Zalads and Zax Sauce, is teaming up with the University of Alabama’s marching band — a fixture of fall Saturdays in Tuscaloosa and one of the most recognized collegiate ensembles in the country.
Band members will stop by a nearby Zaxbys restaurant for appearances later this year, with dates and details still to come. The collaboration also builds in direct support for the university and its students that extends well past those in-person moments.
“Ask anyone in Alabama what fall sounds like, and the answer is the Million Dollar Band,” said Drew Gressett, CEO of Roost & Rise Holdings. “As a Zaxbys operator in the greater Birmingham area, it’s incredibly special to partner with a program that means so much to the community and support the students who bring that tradition to life every Saturday. This is just the beginning of what we hope will be a long relationship between Zaxbys and Alabama Athletics. Roll Tide!”
“We’re excited to partner with Zaxbys and Roost & Rise in a way that celebrates the Million Dollar Band and the role our students play in the University of Alabama community,” said Dr. Ken Ozzello, Director of Bands. “Support like this creates meaningful opportunities for our students while bringing together two organizations with strong ties to Alabama and the South.”
Roost & Rise operates 96 Zaxbys restaurants across the Southeast, 24 of which are in Alabama. The band collaboration marks its first major community partnership in the market, with more to come. Helping lead that effort is DJ Pretty Peech, recently named Roost & Rise’s Chief Vibe Officer, a role built around connecting the brand to local culture that she will carry into Tuscaloosa.
