Swig, Home of the Original Dirty Soda, is kicking off its seventh annual Save The Cups campaign, created to support women navigating breast cancer treatment while also promoting early detection.
This year, Swig aims to raise at least $650,000 to help even more women and families facing breast cancer, building on the impact the campaign has made since its launch in 2020.
THE STORIES THAT DRIVE SAVE THE CUPS
Behind the dollars raised are women navigating diagnoses, treatment and circumstances that extend far beyond cancer itself.
Kendra Levering, Missouri
Kendra Levering’s breast cancer diagnosis turned her life upside down, forcing her to navigate chemotherapy, fertility preservation and the uncertainty that came with treatment. Throughout it all, small routines helped her hold onto a sense of normalcy — including regular trips to Swig, sometimes even while wearing her cold cap during treatment.
Kendra was selected as a Save The Cups recipient in 2025, bringing her connection to Swig full circle and providing meaningful financial support during one of the most difficult chapters of her life.
Carrie McKee, Utah
For Carrie McKee, Save The Cups played a role before she even knew she had breast cancer.
Carrie visited Swig’s Oquirrh Mountain location in Utah and made a donation to Save The Cups. That simple moment prompted her to think about her own health, and she realized she was overdue for a mammogram.
She scheduled the appointment.
That mammogram led to her breast cancer diagnosis.
Carrie’s story has become a powerful reminder of why early detection is an important part of the Save The Cups mission. The campaign was created to ease the financial burden for women fighting breast cancer, and Swig also hopes it encourages women to schedule the appointment, get checked and prioritize their own health.
Joy Skarka, Florida
Joy Skarka was 32 years old when she discovered a lump in March 2025 while at the hospital with her husband, who was battling brain cancer.
Months later, Joy underwent a double mastectomy, just 10 days before her husband passed away in August 2025.
Suddenly, Joy was navigating her own breast cancer treatment while grieving the loss of her husband and caring for their two young children.
When the Save The Cups team arrived at Joy’s home to surprise her with the news that she had been selected to receive support, Joy shared that it was the couple’s first home, the place where they had brought their children home and built their life together.
Stories like Kendra’s, Carrie’s and Joy’s are why Save The Cups continues to grow. While every woman’s circumstances are different, the goal remains the same: ease the financial burden during a time when families are already carrying more than enough.
