Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint continues its aggressive Florida expansion and will soon enter the Orlando market. Existing Tallahassee franchisee Michael Holmes has signed an agreement to build three units in Orlando in the next four years. Holmes, along with his Orlando operating partners Nick Holmes and Tyler Lackey, will open the first restaurant in the first quarter of 2016.

Holmes has worked in the restaurant industry for four years but has been around the fast-casual segment for 15 years, as his parents are Firehouse Subs franchisees. Holmes already owns the franchise rights to four Uncle Maddio’s restaurants in Tallahassee. He opened his first Tallahassee restaurant in 2013 at 3122 Mahan Drive and will open the other two Tallahassee locations in the next 18 months.

“After the success of my first Uncle Maddio’s restaurant in Tallahassee, I knew I wanted to continue my franchise into Orlando,” says Michael Holmes, Uncle Maddio’s Florida franchisee. “Our Tallahassee restaurant guests have reacted positively to the brand and love the food, and I’m confident our Orlando guests will feel the same.”

In addition to the Tallahassee restaurant, Uncle Maddio’s has the first of five locations open in Jacksonville, Florida, and will soon open its first of three units in Panama City Beach, Florida. Both franchisees are multiunit franchisees of other quick-service and fast-casual concepts. In addition, Uncle Maddio’s has signed an agreement to build three units each in the Sarasota and Ocala areas.

“Florida is a robust market for us and we will continue to grow our presence there in the next few years,” says CEO Matt Andrew. “Michael has been a great franchise partner and we are excited to expand across the state with him.”

Since launching its aggressive growth plan in 2008, Uncle Maddio's has signed franchise agreements with 55 different entities in 18 states. Many of Uncle Maddio's franchisees have previous multiunit experience with Jimmy John's, Firehouse Subs, Dairy Queen, McDonalds, Burger King, Krystal, Papa John's, Domino's, Golden Corral and Five Guys. Uncle Maddio's is on track to have 300 restaurants open in five years with 1,000 units in development and is opening units every 10 days.
