Jim Deering was recently named president of Wingstop Restaurants, Inc.

Deering joined the company as vice president of franchising in January 1999.

Deering previously served as president of a resort retail chain, and was also the chief operating officer of an international service franchisor.

Deering is active in the International Franchise Association (IFA) and is currently serving his fourth year as trustee for their education foundation.
He has an MBA from the University of North Florida and his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Deering also received his Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) designation six years ago with the first CFE class at the IFA convention in Puerto Rico.

“We’ve been growing at a phenomenal rate,” said Deering. “24 restaurants with 42 under development in a little over two and a half years of granting franchises. I plan to keep tracking at this pace until we reach a national presence.”
