GPS Hospitality Partners announced last week the purchase of 36 Burger King restaurants located in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey from Twoton Inc.

“Twoton is one of the longest-tenured Burger King franchisees and they have operated great Burger King restaurants for more than 40 years,” says Tom Garrett, CEO and founder. “We’re excited to enter these markets and carry on the tradition of providing excellent service and hot, fresh food to our guests.

“Burger King is an iconic brand and we are focused on continuing to operate great restaurants as we look for further opportunities for growth,” Garrett adds. “We’ve developed a winning formula for improving guest service, upgrading facilities, as well as providing training and development opportunities for our teams. We’re excited to be able to share these practices with our teams in each market.”

During 2014, GPS Hospitality acquired 79 restaurants. The company previously purchased four additional restaurants in the Atlanta market, as well as 39 in the Cincinnati market, which, similar to this transaction, was also completed in partnership with Nonami Investments and The Cynosure Group.
