Henny Penny Corporation has been named a recipient of the YUM Brands STAR Award. Specifically, the Ohio-based foodservice equipment manufacturer has been named KFC’s U.S. Supplier of the Year for 2010.

Receiving this honor places Henny Penny in the top 3 percent of YUM’s suppliers. Through innovation and quality, the company continues to be leaders in the foodservice industry and a proud supplier partner to YUM Brands.

Henny Penny was given this recognition primarily for the success of its AHC-993 Holding Cabinet, a product that KFC uses to ensure its customers receive hot, fresh chicken. With its precise humidity controls, durable construction, and variable footprint, the AHC-993 delivers efficiency and quality to KFC’s stores every day.

“It’s an honor to receive the YUM Brands STAR Award,” says Rob Connelly, president, Henny Penny. “Being recognized by industry giants such as YUMand KFC speaks to the continued focus on outstanding, individualized product innovation that stems from every level of the Henny Penny organization.”

KFC is part of YUM Brands, which operates market leaders KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Long John Silvers, and A&W. YUM uses its STAR (Supplier Tracking, Assessment and Recognition) system for supplier evaluation and tracking. KFC engineers were the key determiners for the award recipient.
