The Associated Press is reporting that Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. disclosed Friday in a SEC filing that it will sell an Illinois-based manufacturing and distribution site to Harlan Bakeries Inc. for $11.8 million. The deal is expected to close by the end of January 2008.
According to the AP report,Krispy Kreme intends to use proceeds from the sale to pay down debt.
