Papa John’s International, Inc. today announced the promotion of Bill Van Epps to the newly created position of President, USA.

Van Epps has been with Papa John’s since 2001, having served as the company’s chief operations officer from 2004 to 2006 and managing director, international, from 2001 to 2004.

As President, USA, Van Epps is responsible for the company’s domestic restaurant operations, restaurant development and brand marketing. Van Epps will also continue to serve on the company’s International management committee and oversee operations in the United Kingdom until a President of the international division is hired.

“Bill has made considerable contributions to the growth of Papa John’s domestic business over the past few years,” said Nigel Travis, Papa John’s president and chief executive officer. “We look forward to his continued leadership in growing our brand in his new position.”


Van Epps has more than 30 years of foodservice experience including 25 years in the international arena. Previous to joining Papa John’s in 2001, Van Epps served as President of the International Division of Yorkshire Global Restaurants, responsible for all aspects of Yorkshire’s International business for both Long John’s Silver’s and A&W restaurants. His experience also includes a tenure with AFC Enterprises in which he was President of the International Division and President of Worldwide Business Development.
