Sagittarius Brands, the parent company of the Captain D’s and Del Taco restaurant chains, signed business deals as of the year ended 2007 for the opening of 91 future sites over the next several years.

“We had a great year,” says Ron Petty, president of development for Sagittarius Brands. “There are a lot of owner-operators in the industry who have their eyes on the exciting things we’re doing with our restaurants. We anticipate 2008 to be just as good if not better.”

For Captain D’s, new 2007 deals include two new restaurants in Nashville, Tennessee; two in Winston-Salem, North Carolina; one in Noblesville, Indiana; and 10 in Central/West Texas.

For Del Taco, 2007 deals included 5 new restaurants in Toledo, Ohio; four in Chattanooga, Tennessee; three in Atlanta; two in Kansas City; four in Northern California; 10 in Orlando and Gainesville, Florida; three in Knoxville, Tennessee; seven in Nashville; three in Fresno, California; one in Ontario; three in Spartanburg, South Carolina; 16 in Southern Alabama; and 12 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

In 2007, Sagittarius opened 37 new restaurants including both Del Taco’s and Captain D’s as well as two co-branded Captain D’s/Del Taco restaurants in the Nashville market. Currently, there are more than 600 Captain D’s open and Del Taco recently opened its 500th restaurant.
