Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint announces the opening of its newest unit on August 3 at 1544 Piedmont Ave. NE in Atlanta in the Ansley Mall shopping center. To celebrate the newest Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint opening, the restaurant will serve free 9-inch fully-customizable pizzas to all customers in line from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. A signature event for Uncle Maddio’s grand openings, one patron in line will also be awarded free pizza for one-year.

The rapidly expanding fast casual pizza chain reports additional developing units in 11 new markets, including Dallas; Austin, Texas; Jonesboro, Arkansas; Mobile, Alabama; Birmingham, Alabama; Columbus, Georgia; Canton, Georgia; Jacksonville, Florida; Virginia Beach, Virginia; Ashburn, Virginia, and Fargo, North Dakota. Recently, industry-leading QSR Magazine recognized Uncle Maddio’s for its paradigm-shifting quick serve pizza, naming the Atlanta-based chain “Ones To Watch,” an honor bestowed upon up-and-coming franchises showcasing remarkable offerings and growth potential.

“Our brand was little more than a vision in 2007,” says founder and chief pizza maker Matt Andrew, an industry veteran. “Five years later we can truly say we’ve hit our stride. The secret to our success is the uniqueness of pizza customization in the limited service marketplace. Uncle Maddio’s guests can specify their exact preferences – healthy or indulgent – quickly and for a great price.”

With nine new stores opened so far in 2013 and two more opening this summer, Uncle Maddio’s is growing quickly. By August, Uncle Maddio’s will have 18 stores in operation, with another 130 in development. Many current Uncle Maddio’s franchisees are in the process of opening their second and third locations.

“I spent several months researching the build-your-own pizza concept that Uncle Maddio’s pioneered,” says Chris Wadsworth, an Uncle Maddio’s franchisee in Northern Virginia who is currently in the process of opening his first location. “There are many competitors, but it really came down to the fact that Uncle Maddio’s uses the highest quality ingredients, has the best customer service, and produces a pizza that is second to none.”

Uncle Maddio’s offers a made-from-scratch 9-inch individual pizza with up to three toppings that sells for $6.99. Guests choose one of three crusts, including a gluten-free option, and the choice of 48 toppings, six sauces, 27 vegetables, and 15 meats. Guests can also order one of the chain’s chef-prepared pizzas for $7.99.

Additionally, the menu features create-your-own salads and signature salads, such as Greek, Chicken Caesar, and Santa Fe. Toasted panini sandwiches round out the Italian-style menu.

For those with dietary restrictions or specifications, Uncle Maddio’s serves up a huge selection of healthful options like whole wheat and gluten free crusts, hormone-free chicken, fresh local vegetables, Daiya vegan cheese, and organic greens.

“You can taste the difference,” Wadsworth says. “That’s what sold me — the pizza, the paninis, the salads — they all taste incredible.”
