Cincinnati-based grilled cheese restaurant Tom+Chee announced an updated menu, with brand new melts, elevated classics, a variety of combo meals, and more for its 29 stores across the U.S.

“Our menu has evolved over time, as our staff, franchisees, and customers have shared creative recipes and pushed for fun, new flavor combinations,” says Tom+Chee co-founders Corey Ward and Trew Quackenbush. “With the addition of shareables, combo meals and new side dish options, we feel confident we’re adding not only flavor, but also value, to the Tom+Chee menu. We look forward to introducing the new menu items to our fans across the country.”

Specializing in tomato soup and grilled cheese, Tom+Chee has long been known for its fresh ingredients and quirky takes on comfort food classics. The entire menu is made fresh, with no fryers, freezers, or microwaves, and offers a variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

Now, Tom+Chee will add melts and shareables to its menu, as well as new salads, sides, soups, and specials. Customer favorites like the Tom+Chee will get a makeover, with the addition of parmesan crust and a balsamic reduction. The BBQ+Bacon sandwich will get even more bacon and a sweet barbeque sauce added, while the Grilled Mac+Chee will become even more decadent with the addition of bacon and crunchy onions.

New melts include the Chicken Bacon Ranch Melt – made with Wisconsin cheddar cheese, hand-carved chicken breast, Applewood smoked bacon, roma tomatoes, mixed greens and ranch dressing. The West of Philly is made with mozzarella cheese, house roast beef, grilled onions and mushrooms, banana peppers and garlic aioli. New salads include the Chicken Caesar and the BLT Ranch Salad, while side salads, pasta salad, mac n’ cheese, and homemade pickles debut as new side items. “Shareables” include donut bites and mozzarella cheese bites and are designed to be shared among 2-4 customers.

Originally started as a food tent in Cincinnati in 2009, Tom+Chee has enjoyed explosive growth since the founders pitched their business on ABC’s “Shark Tank” in May 2013. The Tom+Chee franchise is rapidly growing and currently has 99 stores under contract in 20 states, including Ohio, Michigan, Colorado, Texas, and Tennessee.
