Freebirds World Burrito has hired industry veteran Dawn Gillis as Chief Technology Officer to support the expansion of the company’s technology infrastructure. Dawn’s hiring is the latest investment Freebirds has made to strengthen its marketing and operations technology stack, which includes a new website and app to support the growing demand of online ordering.

“Last year introduced challenges that allowed us to innovate and problem solve like never before.  Our investments in technology are helping us adapt and grow in response to the pandemic,” says Alex Eagle, CEO at Freebirds World Burrito. “With a higher volume of online orders than ever before, we are excited for Dawn to help innovate and evolve our infrastructure even more to create the best consumer experience possible.

Dawn adds, “Freebirds is one of the most beloved fast casual brands in the industry and has maintained a standard of excellence with craveable flavor pairings and menu innovation.  As a company, they are known to take good care of their team and customers. I hope to grow Freebirds’ continued success by supporting its growing technology infrastructure.”

Prior to joining Freebirds World Burrito, Dawn led digital operations as CTO of Austin-based Torchy’s Tacos.  She was also the former Senior Director of Acquisition Integration IT at 7-Eleven.  A 14-year veteran at 7-Eleven, Dawn implemented technology-driven data exchanges to support operation and financial functions and designed an agile operations structure and funding model to maintain the new technologies inherited from the company’s acquisition.
