Restaurant industry executive Greg Vojnovic has acquired The Hot Dog Shoppe, brand headquartered in Warren, Ohio.
Vojnovic, longtime executive of Popeye’s, Arby’s and Inspire Brands, acquired The Hot Dog Shoppe, the three-unit fast-casual restaurant group founded by Paul Trevelline in 1946. Vojnovic acquired it with his brother, fellow restaurateur Nick Vojnovic. The transaction was finalized on March 17, and the company will now be known as Hot Dog Shoppe Limited Holdings, LLC.
The Hot Dog Shoppe features a menu of hot dogs, chili dogs, hamburgers, and fresh-cut fries, all sold at a reasonable price point. The company has been family owned for 75 years and operates locations in Warren, Girard and E. Liverpool, Ohio.
“Hot Dog Shoppe was founded early in the post-war golden years of the creation of the fast-food restaurant boom,” says Greg Vojnovic. “It has survived through many of the ups and downs of the last 75 years by staying true to Paul Trevelline’s vision: high quality, simple food sold at a pleasing price. We will remain true to that vision and make sure that Hot Dog Shoppe remains as vibrant as part of the communities as it is today.”
Ray Trevelline, a founding family member, says “My family and I founded the Hot Dog Shoppe in 1946 and have put everything into our restaurants. We wanted to make sure we chose the right person to carry on our traditions. We could not be happier that Greg will steward the company going forward.”

In addition to co-ownership of Hot Dog Holdings, Nick Vojnovic is president of Little Greek Fresh Grill and involved in franchise development for Green Market Café.
Hot Dog Shoppe currently has three units in the greater Youngstown, Ohio, area.
