Döner Haus, the German-style Döner concept bringing one of Europe’s favorite street foods to the U.S., is opening its first Long Island location in Wantagh on Friday, Nov. 13. Located at 3336 Jerusalem Ave., the new restaurant will serve the brand’s signature Döner Sandwiches, Döner Wraps and Döner Boxes, loaded with freshly sliced, filler-free, 100% Zabiha Halal meats, fresh vegetables and creamy garlic sauce. The formula is simple: do one thing and do it right. In this case, make a Döner you’ll have dreams about.
The Wantagh restaurant is owned and operated by franchise partner Hamza Jalili, marking his second Döner Haus following the opening of his Bayside location in Queens. A third restaurant in Garden City Park is expected in the coming months. Long Island, consider this the start of a very tasty habit.
“We’re proud to bring some German flair to Long Island and show the community what makes Döner Haus special: We do one thing and we do it right.,” said Hamza Jalili, owner of Döner Haus Wantagh. “We’ve seen guests in Bayside come in curious and return as regulars, so we’re excited to see that same energy in Wantagh.”
THIS IS HOW WE DÖNER
Döner Haus started with a craving that wouldn’t quit. After moving to New York, German-born founder Nikolaus von Solodkoff missed the Döner Kebabs he grew up eating, so he stopped looking and started building, founding Döner Haus in New York City in 2023. Beginning in the East Village and opening to franchising opportunities the following year, Nikolaus set out to bring this crave-worthy concept across the U.S.
With roots in Germany’s Turkish immigrant communities, German-style Döner brings together meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie, Turkish bread, fresh vegetables and plenty of sauce. In Germany, it’s an everyday favorite for lunch breaks, dinner on the go and the inevitable late-night craving. Döner Haus is here to make it just as much of a habit in the U.S. No passport required.
YOUR DÖNER. YOUR BUSINESS
Guests can choose chicken, beef or a mix of both, tucked into a crispy Turkish pide pocket. The Döner Sandwich and Döner Wrap come with red cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and signature garlic sauce. Prefer a fork? Döner Boxes offer a choice of fries, rice or salad, from a loaded comfort-food fix to a lighter, protein-packed lunch, with every meal delivering 53 grams of protein. While others continue to add to their menus, Döner Haus keeps things simple with an easy-to-navigate menu that makes ordering a breeze, even at midnight. Your call. Nein regrets.
GOOD DÖNER GETS AROUND
With more than 50 franchise commitments nationwide, Döner Haus is giving the usual lunch order some competition. Its expansion is backed by efficient kitchens and a proprietary operating platform connecting ordering, inventory, reporting and franchisee support. AI-powered tools help answer customer calls and turn daily operating data into practical guidance, giving franchise partners more time to focus on food and service.
The next big thing in fast-casual is just getting started.
