The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) partnered with Arby’s for the re-release of the chain’s fish sandwich, the Reel Big Fillet. This limited-time offer is part of the chain’s continued commitment to providing innovative, quality products while also using sustainable resources.
The Reel Big Fillet is a sampling of wild-caught Alaska Pollock, sourced from the state of Alaska’s North Pacific Sea. This sandwich is served hot and topped with a tartar sauce to enhance the natural flavors of the fish.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute to bring back this sandwich to our menu,” says Len Van Popering, senior vice president, product development and innovation at Arby’s Restaurant Group Inc. “Alaska’s sustainability practices are highly regarded in the industry, and Arby’s is dedicated to giving our customers fresh and delicious products. As Alaska supplies over half of the wild-caught seafood in the United States, there is nowhere else we would rather get our fish.”
“Alaska is deeply committed to ensuring that its wild, natural, and delicious seafood can be enjoyed for generations to come. In fact, Alaska is the only state that provides a mandate in its constitution for sustainable seafood. All Alaska seafood develops its superior flavor from eating a natural diet and swimming through clean, cold waters,” says Claudia Hogue, foodservice program director from ASMI. “We are extremely proud of our partnership with Arby’s in releasing the delicious Reel Big Fillet sandwich.”
