The world’s largest franchisor of hand-rolled soft pretzels is testing a new pretzel product at 32 franchised store locations. Auntie Anne’s is offering Breakfast Sausage Stix for on-the-go pretzel customers.

Building on the concept of Auntie Anne’s Pretzel Dog, Breakfast Sausage Stix feature high-quality breakfast sausage links individually wrapped in Auntie Anne’s Original pretzel dough, baked to a golden brown, and served with syrup as a dipping complement. One order contains four breakfast sausage Stix. The average price point is $3.29.

This limited-time menu option will be offered in 12 airport locations, nine train stations, and 11 shopping venues throughout the country. Consumers can order Breakfast Sausage Stix during the morning hours throughout August and September.

“Auntie Anne’s is exploring the opportunity of introducing a breakfast offering in stores that have had traditionally strong early morning sales,” says Carl Hornberger, director of menu management. “We think the Breakfast Sausage Stix are a great menu addition in venues where on-the-go consumers are seeking out new food choices during the morning hours. If our test is successful, we’ll make the Breakfast Sausage Stix available to franchisees who see an opportunity to build on their morning day part sales.”
