In June 2016, Beefsteak debuted two new locations in the Washington, D.C. area with locations in the Tenleytown neighborhood, at 4531 Wisconsin Ave NW, and at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, Maryland, at 7101 Democracy Blvd. Beefsteak also expanded to Philadelphia, with a location at the Penn campus at 3417 Spruce Street, marking the first Beefsteak location to open outside of the D.C. market and the first property in Pennsylvania for Beefsteak's parent company, ThinkFoodGroup.

Beefsteak is also introducing an online ordering platform available at all Washington D.C. area locations. This new feature will soon become available via Beefsteak's loyalty app, allowing users to earn rewards for each dollar spent in store and online. Orders can be placed for takeout up to 24 hours in advance or for immediate pick-up. Additionally, this new platform will allow users to save their preferred location and credit card information, and access their order history.

The Beefsteak menu, developed by chef José Andrés and his culinary team led by executive chef Pat Peterson, features hearty vegetable bowls, with options for combining flash-prepared vegetables, warm grains like bulgur, house-made sauces such as garlic yogurt, and optional meatier toppings. Guests can also choose to swap in leafy greens as the base and turn any veggie bowl into a salad.
