BRIX Holdings LLC, a multi-concept franchising company, announced the additions of Souper Salad and Greenz to its growing roster of franchise chains. With a portfolio of brands positioned to benefit from healthier dining trends, these two salad concepts continue to expand BRIX investments in concepts that offer lighter fare and strong potential for growth.
“These acquisitions are consistent with our focus on healthier menus driving a healthy business opportunity,” says Joe Vitrano, CEO of BRIX Holdings. “Both brands have the potential to expand in the fast growing segment of the food industry focused on consumers’ healthier eating choices.”
As part of the acquisitions, Dan Hernandez will remain president of Souper Salad and Scott McIntosh, head of franchising and real estate for Souper Salad, will join the BRIX franchise development team for all of the BRIX brands. “We look forward to supporting Dan and quickly bringing new levels of support to Souper Salad franchisees,” Vitrano adds.
“We are excited about what this transaction means for the brand and our franchisees,” Hernandez says. “BRIX has the resources to build on Souper Salad’s strong brand equity to revitalize and grow our system.”
Souper Salad is one of the largest soup and salad restaurant brands in the Southwest with 37 locations. Founded in 1978, Souper Salad offers a menu of salads, handcrafted soups, and breads made daily. This buffet-style restaurant also offers hot menu items such as tacos and pizza as well as desserts like strawberry shortcake.
BRIX Holdings plans to enhance the product offering, upgrade the branding, update existing locations, and utilize BRIX marketing, real estate, and franchising infrastructure to expand the concept.
Addressing the same category, but in a small-box, fast-casual format, BRIX acquired Greenz, a Dallas-based cafe with two locations serving artistically crafted salads, soups, and wraps made daily for customers looking for an elevated salad and light food experience.
“The essence of Souper Salad is on trend and is in a good position to prosper with the application of BRIX resources and experience,” Vitrano says. “Greenz is in an early stage and its unique menu provides BRIX with an excellent starting point for further concept development and eventual expansion.”
