As temperatures cool off, California Tortilla is keeping its menu hot with a new limited-time dish: the Cubano Bowl. The entrée will be offered at all California Tortilla locations through the end of the year.
The Cubano Bowl features a flavorful mix of mesquite chicken on a bed of rice and beans, topped with tostones (fried plantains), mango salsa, avocado, sour cream, and cilantro, then drizzled with a made-from-scratch Havana Sauce. Adding a light, smoky, sweet element to the mix, the Havana Sauce blends BBQ sauce with the sweet and spicy flavors of lime juice, orange juice, crushed chili peppers, tomatoes, and Mexican spices and herbs. Suggested price for the dish starts at $8.49, and prices vary by location.
“At California Tortilla, we enjoy highlighting unique flavors from cuisines around the world and our new Cubano Bowl adds another level to our diverse menu options,” says COO Keith Goldman. “This dish brings all the authentic flavors of Cuban cuisine to life with simple, farm-fresh ingredients and a light, flavorful, made-from-scratch sauce.”
