Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s join forces with Midnight Moon Moonshine to introduce the Midnight Moonshine Burger, available now at participating restaurants nationwide.
Served on the chains’ signature Fresh Baked Buns, the Midnight Moonshine Burger is available with a charbroiled, 100 percent Black Angus beef patty along with the sweet burn of Midnight Moon Moonshine glaze, Pepper Jack cheese, crispy garlic-pepper onion straws, and thick-cut, Applewood-smoked bacon.
“Branded, alcohol-flavored menu items have been popular in sit-down restaurants for a number of years now but Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s were the first to bring them to the fast food industry,” says Brad Haley, chief marketing officer for Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s restaurants. “We’ve done bourbon- and beer-flavored burgers and sandwiches before but the rapidly rising popularity of legalized moonshine led us to start playing around with it in our test kitchens. We loved the sweet burn you get when you put a moonshine-flavored glaze on a burger, and the addition of crispy garlic-pepper onion straws, spicy Pepper Jack cheese, Applewood-smoked bacon, and fresh produce really took it over the top,” Haley adds.
The charbroiled Midnight Moonshine Burger is available in various patty sizes starting at $4.39, and can be ordered as a combo meal with fries and a drink starting at $6.89, however, prices may vary. The most premium version is made with our 1/3-pound, 100 percent Black Angus beef patty.
“We are proud that Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s selected Midnight Moon Moonshine as the special ingredient in their delicious sweet and smoky glaze,” says Joe Michalek, founder of Piedmont Distillers, the maker of Midnight Moon Moonshine. “Our commitment to crafting the best-tasting moonshine has made Midnight Moon America’s favorite moonshine, and now, it’s on one of America’s favorite burgers.”
Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s will promote the Midnight Moonshine Burger with a dark and moody ad campaign titled “Making ‘Shine,” featuring a soon-to-be-revealed, multifaceted star. The spot will also include an original song written and performed by country music star Jessie James Decker. Developed by Los Angeles–, New York–, and Amsterdam-based creative agency 72andSunny, the commercial will begin airing on TV nationally on March 28 as well as on the chains’ YouTube channels.
