Checkers and Rally’s Drive-in Restaurants Inc. (Nasdaq: CHKR) announces the launch of a review of all creative and media partners. The $10-plus million account has been at Crispin Porter & Bogusky in Miami since 1996. Checkers has hired an external agency to assist in the review process and plans to select its new agency in October.

“We have invited Crispin Porter & Bogusky to participate in this important process,” said Rich Turer, vice president of marketing of the quick serve chain.

Checkers and Rally’s are among the many QSR companies experiencing unprecedented changes this year. “We are a completely different company than we were just six months ago. We have a new vision, a new attitude and a definite mission of redirecting the companies focus on double drive-thru, speed and quality,” said Annette Della Flora, senior vice president of sales and marketing. “We are looking for an agency that will partner with us to accomplish these objectives.”

Daniel J. Dorsch, president and CEO commented, “Checkers is committed to growing its business and needs to insure that all of the right partners are in place to help get us there quickly and profitably. This means evaluating our merchandising, product vendors and our creative and media partners.”

Since December of 1999, when Dan Dorsch joined the company as CEO, franchise support and interest in the brands has grown to an all-time high including commitments to develop over 200 additional restaurants in the next three to five years.

The agency leading the review process for Checkers is Select Resources International of Los Angeles. All agency inquiries should to be forwarded to Russel Wohlwerth and Mike Agate at Select Resources.
