Chick N Max—the emerging Wichita-based chain that aims to be the home of “The Better Chicken Sandwich”—recently enhanced its menu with two new sandwiches, as well as a new way for customers to enjoy the brand’s Popcorn Chicken and famous almond wood smoked wings.

“We are continuing to innovate, enhance, and invigorate our menu and customer experience with flavor forward sandwiches,” says award-winning Chef Robert Kabakoff, who joined the Chick N Max team as its culinary director late last year to help create gourmet flavor profiles that will help differentiate the brand in the industry. “Yes, we have comfort food but we also have these unique offerings one cannot find anywhere else in the chicken sandwich world.”

 Chick N Max’s new sandwiches include:

  • Sweet & Spicy: Crispy Tenders, fried jalapeno strips, crisp cucumber, tomato and Chick N Max’s sweet & spicy sauce on a brioche bun.
  • Maple Bacon: Pulled smoked chicken, chopped bacon, a drizzle of maple syrup, cheddar cheese, and mayo on a potato bun.


In addition, Chick N Max has introduced its latest innovative way for customers to enjoy the brand’s Popcorn Chicken and famous almond wood smoked wings tossed. The menu items, both of which have been staples on the menu for years, can now be tossed in any one of Chick N Max’s 11 sauces that are made daily.

“This is just another example of how we’ve defined and refined Chick N Max over the course of three years,” says founder Max Sheets, noting that in order to be successful, the brand must remain ahead of the curve and cutting edge.

The menu enhancement comes on the heels of Sheets’ decision to launch the Chick N Max franchising program back in March. The chain is currently targeting multi-unit operators across Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, and the Southeast. Chick N Max plans to reach six locations by the end of 2022 and open as many as five new units each year after that.
