Airport travelers in Washington, D.C., will soon have a new dining option when Concessions International (CI), one of the leading food and beverage concessionaires in the U.S., opens a Be Right Burger (brb) at Dulles International Airport this week. The restaurant will be located in Concourse C at Gate 18. The restaurant is operated by a joint venture between Concessions International and MBC Concessions, an Atlanta-based ACDBE partner. Operating in eight airports in the U.S. and the Virgin Islands, brb will be Concessions International’s first entry into a Washington, D.C., airport.

Working with Reston, Virgina–based Thompson Hospitality, owner of brb and American Tap Room, CI will also open an American Tap Room restaurant at Reagan National airport in October. The brb restaurant opening and future American Tap Room opening marks the first airport locations for Thompson Hospitality.

“Washington, D.C. has been a target market for us for years,” says Donata Russell Major, CI’s chief executive officer. “The brb concept is a great addition to our portfolio and a good first step as we enter the Washington, D.C. airports.”

Be Right Burger caters to burger lovers everywhere and lets guests build their burger exactly how they like it. Diners have the freedom to mix and match any toppings they like or order one of the restaurants signatures burgers, like the Samurai, which includes Teriyaki sauce, sautéed onions, wasabi mayo, American cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Rounding out the menu is a selection of sides like fries, onion rings, tater nuggets, and beef chili alongside handspun milkshakes.

“We are excited to bring brb to the airport retail environment,” says Warren Thompson, president and chairman of Thompson Hospitality. “Having successfully operated branded and contract service locations, we understand the increasingly sophisticated restaurant guest and their needs across a variety of dining occasions.  Be Right Burger will allow the traveler an opportunity to experience convenience and quality with a unique guest focus tailored to their particular needs.”

This is Concessions International’s fifth restaurant opening this year with plans to open six more in 2014.
