ParTech, Inc., a subsidiary of PAR Technology Corporation, announced that CKE Restaurants has selected the new PAR EverServ 7700 POS for its Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s restaurants.
After a rigorous testing and certification process by CKE, the EverServ 7700 terminal is now approved and certified for all Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s corporate-owned and franchised locations.
“The EverServ 7700’s innovative design with centralized port connectivity and easy access to major components will simplify the service of the terminal and maximize our uptime,” says Tom Lindblom, vice president of IT and chief technology officer, CKE Restaurants.
“The modular design of the EverServ 7700 will enable our restaurants to upgrade key components as needs change (CPU, memory, touch screen, disk drives, and customer displays), which will maximize the life of the POS terminals and the return on our technology investment,” he adds. “We also like the sleek new design and small footprint of the PAR terminal, which complements the image of our newly remodeled stores.”
Jeff Chasney, executive vice president of strategic planning and chief information officer for CKE, says, “During our 10-year relationship, PAR has consistently delivered highly durable and reliable POS hardware and responsive.
“We have done extensive lab testing and certification of the new EverServ 7700 terminal, including deployments at four pilot sites, and the performance has been outstanding,” Chasney continues. “We are confident that the innovative design of the EverServ 7700 will provide our franchisees the best combination of durability, performance, scalability, and serviceability that will result in the lowest total cost of ownership.”
The totally redesigned PAR EverServ 7000 Series POS hardware is built with the same rugged durability PAR is known for and a sleek design that delivers the performance hospitality and retail operators demand.
CKE selected the EverServ 7700 model with an Intel i5 processor and POSReady 7 operating system to deliver optimal performance and extend the life span of the terminal by not limiting future applications.
The EverServ 7700 was designed to be backward compatible with many previous models of printers and cash drawers, which will enable CKE to use its existing peripherals to reduce the total cost of ownership.
“CKE has been a great customer for many years, and we are excited to build upon this relationship,” says Tim Votaw, senior vice president of sales and marketing, ParTech. “The EverServ 7700 terminal is a great fit for companies like CKE that make strategic technology decisions that deliver optimal performance today and protect their investment for the long term.”
The POS rollout at CKE corporate locations commenced in mid-December with 409 stores completed by January 31, 2013.
The remaining locations are being installed, and the rollout will be completed by the end of June 2013. PAR is staging, delivering, installing, and disposing of existing terminals for the CKE POS project, and will continue to provide maintenance services for the CKE restaurants.
