Cousins Subs, in collaboration with its Make It Better Foundation and legend Donald Driver, announce the return of the Driven at Heart Scholarship Contest for its second year. This contest will empower four exceptional Wisconsin high school senior athletes with a staggering $20,000 in scholarships and an exclusive opportunity to meet the legendary Donald Driver at the prestigious Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame 74th Annual Induction Ceremony.

Formerly recognized as the Wisconsin Sports Awards Scholarship Contest and rebranded last year under the guidance of Driver and the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame, the program has bestowed $200,000 in scholarships upon 44 student-athletes since 2013. It continues to be a beacon for students striving to excel both academically and athletically.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of this contest for the second year and look forward to my active role throughout the entire process,” says Driver. “To all the high school seniors out there, remember, it’s not just about the game you play—it’s about the heart you bring to it. I look forward to meeting the incredible individuals who embody what it means to be ‘driven at heart.’”

Throughout the month of February, eligible high school seniors graduating in 2024, engaged in a WIAA-sanctioned sport, excelling in academics, and actively participating in community initiatives, are invited to apply for this life-changing opportunity.*

After the contest entry period, the Cousins Subs Make It Better Foundation Board of Directors, working alongside Driver and representatives from the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame, will award scholarships to four outstanding finalists. This includes two $7,500 scholarships (one male and one female) and two $2,500 scholarships (one male and one female).

The crowning moment for the finalists and their families will be the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame 74th Annual Induction Ceremony, hosted by Donald Driver on April 20, 2024, in Milwaukee. The ceremony will feature a special spotlight on the finalists during a statewide TV special of the event.

“At Cousins Subs, we believe in investing in the future, and the Driven at Heart Scholarship Contest is our way of championing the next generation of leaders,” says Justin McCoy, vice president of marketing at Cousins Subs. “These young athletes inspire us with their passion for excellence and we’re honored to play a role in shaping their bright futures.”

The scholarships are made possible through the Cousins Subs Make It Better Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to funding causes that address health and wellness, hunger, and youth education in the communities served by Cousins Subs.
