Dairy Queen, in partnership with Boston’s snow removal crews, decided to officially end winter by declaring “summer now” across America. DQ Fans across the country can now declare summer on summernow.com.
On Monday, the Dairy Queen system honored the Bostonians on the front lines of winter’s worst, rewarding the hardworking snow removal crews with free Blizzard Treats and bringing summer early to the city that needs it most.
In addition to treating workers to a taste of summer, the DQ brand also rewarded three exemplary snow removal team members for their unprecedented acts of Blizzard bravery with a DQ Ultimate Gift Card good for more than 365 days of Blizzard Treats.
Matt Frazier, president of the Massachusetts Snow & Ice Contractors Association, declared it summer in Boston. Three snow removal crewmembers received medals and a Free DQ Blizzards for a year. Workers locked up the last snowplow of the season, symbolizing the end of winter. A fife and drum corps band also performed.
