American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ) recently announced plans to bring a DQ Grill & Chill restaurant to Glastonbury. The restaurant opened on Thursday, May 27, and is located at 2834 Main Street.
The DQ Grill & Chill location features a modern look and feel, comfortable booths, large wooden tables, warm lighting and upbeat music. The location is locally owned and operated by experienced Dairy Queen franchisee Michael Cassetta. The Glastonbury restaurant will be his 5th DQ location.
“Dairy Queen is a wonderful organization to be a part of as we get to bring joy to our community members daily,” says Michael Cassetta. “Dairy Queen’s business model always appealed to me due to the corporate team’s hands on approach when onboarding new operators into the system. I have felt well supported every step of the way and I look forward to providing Glastonbury’s locals with the exceptional treats and customer service they have come to love at classic Dairy Queen.”
After owning a hardware store for a number of years, Cassetta was eventually presented with an opportunity to partner with Dairy Queen. He jumped on the chance and has now been with the brand for the past 12 years. The Glastonbury restaurant will be family-owned, with Cassetta’s sons Joseph and Paul assisting with operations.
