Dunkin’ Donuts, America’s all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, announced the signing of multi-unit store development agreements with two franchise groups to develop a total of 17 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants throughout Alabama and Mississippi over the next several years.

The two franchise groups and their development plans include:

Existing franchisee Birmingham Donut Holdings, LLC, plans to develop nine new Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Birmingham, Alabama. Led by Amish Patel, this group currently operates 34 restaurants throughout Alabama and Florida. The team’s next Birmingham location is planned to open in 2017.

New franchise group, Lagunita Franchise Operations, LLC, plans to develop five new restaurants in Mobile, Alabama and three restaurants in Biloxi, Mississippi. Led by Damon Dunn, this group recently acquired four existing Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Mobile and one in Biloxi. The team’s first new Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants under this agreement in both Alabama and Mississippi are planned to open in 2018.

“Dunkin’ Donuts’ growth would not be possible without our existing and new franchisees like Birmingham Donut Holdings, LLC and Lagunita Franchise Operations, LLC, who continue to demonstrate their high confidence in our business model, our word-class support team, and the unit economics of the business,” says Grant Benson, CFE, senior vice president of franchising and development, Dunkin’ Brands. “As we continue to work towards our long-term goal of developing 17,000 Dunkin’ Donuts in the U.S., we also remain committed to providing great products, exceptional guest service and innovative marketing to our loyal guests around the country.”

There are currently 29 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants located throughout Alabama and Mississippi. The brand is continuing to recruit franchisees in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and in Greenwood, Jackson, Meridian and Tupelo, Mississippi. To help fuel growth in both states, special development incentives are available, which include reduced royalty fees for three years and up to $5,000 in local store marketing support for timely openings.

Additionally, as part of Dunkin’ Donuts’ growth throughout Alabama, a multi-brand location with sister brand Baskin-Robbins, the world’s largest chain of ice cream specialty shops, opened in October at Petro Dodge City in Hanceville, Alabama. The location is a full-service restaurant and also offers a drive-thru.

In an effort to keep the brand fresh and competitive, Dunkin’ Donuts offers flexible concepts for any real estate format including free-standing restaurants, end caps, in-line sites, gas and convenience, travel plazas, universities, as well as other retail environments.

Dunkin’ Donuts offerings include hot coffee, iced coffee, cold brew coffee, flavored coffees, lattes, macchiato, espresso, cappuccino, Dunkin’ Donuts K-Cup pods, Coolatta frozen drinks, donuts, muffins, bagels, breakfast and bakery sandwiches, and a DDSMART menu featuring better-for-you items.
