Famous Dave's of America announced that all company-owned locations are offering online ordering for guests via the Famous Dave's website at www.famousdaves.com/order-online.

"In response to guest requests, Famous Dave's is now offering online ordering to guests at all 52 company-owned locations, which are predominantly located in Minneapolis, Chicago, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and the New York City area," says Aric Nissen, vice president of marketing and research & development.

"This is an important industry trend as research shows that over 40 percent of U.S. adults have ordered food online. Not only is it of great benefit to guests, but it also offers a financial upside to restaurants," Nissen says. "Studies show that restaurants using electronic ordering report increases in both average check and order frequency. It is a win-win for all.

"Additionally, the new online ordering system keeps Famous Dave's on the leading edge of providing the convenience guests are looking for. Nearly half, or 48.5 percent, of fast-casual chains offer online ordering while only 18 percent of casual dining chains provide it, according to a recent study by Nation's Restaurant News and Cornell University," he says.

The project team at Famous Dave's built a guest-friendly online ordering system that is a first in the industry. The online ordering system is integrated with MICROS POS and sorts items down to the ingredient level regardless of combination or side choice. This system now becomes the backbone for future efforts involving website ordering, Facebook ordering, mobile ordering, and other possibilities.
