H.E.L.P., the Charity announced that for its latest grant period, which ended October 15, 2013, it issued 50 awards of grants totaling $15,280.20.
This brings the total awards of grants since H.E.L.P., the Charity began in October 2010, to 275 awards of grants totaling $55,721.12.
Through its grant program, H.E.L.P. provides grants to U.S. based non-profit, tax-exempt schools and other entities to support educational programs. H.E.L.P. was born out of the desire of the shareholders and franchisees of Figaro’s Italian Pizza to make a positive, long lasting impact on the communities they serve. The recession caused many local, state, and federal governments to cut budgets at schools. It was this need that drove Figaro’s Pizza and its franchise owners to conceive of H.E.L.P., the Charity. H.E.L.P., stands for Helping Education with Love and Pizza. The charity was launched in late 2010 and began raising funds that October. H.E.L.P. is now also supported by all Pizza Schmizza and Schmizza Pub & Grub restaurants, Nick-N-Willy’s in Grand Junction, Colorado, and All-Mine Yogurt in Molalla, Oregon.
The charity has since applied for and obtained 501 (c) 3 status from the Internal Revenue Service.
The funds awarded to date will make a positive impact on children’s lives in many communities, providing contributions to facilitate the funding of many scholarships, books, school supplies, field trips, and more for schools across Oregon and Wisconsin.
