The Southeast’s leading, fresh-prepared meals retailer, Fitlife Foods, is set to open its first South Florida location this weekend on Sunday, January 10. The retail location is at Market on University (1043 S. University Drive) in Plantation, Florida.

Just in time for the New Year's focus on health and wellness, Fitlife Foods will bring its performance-based lifestyle experience to time-starved, health-conscious and fitness-minded South Floridians.

"We're so excited to bring Fitlife Foods to Broward County and help the community find its daily Fitlife potential from eating the best, made-from-scratch, fresh-prepared meals," says David Osterweil, founder and chief executive officer of Fitlife Foods. "Plus, now is a perfect time for people to experience our Project U program and the work our wellness coaches do to help people get and stay on the right track for 2016."

On Friday, January 8 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fitlife Foods will be hosting an invitation-only Friends & Family Day. This day will include tastings with Chef Andrew Ruga, wellness sessions, store tours, and Fitlife prize pack giveaways.

Proceeds from the grand opening days will benefit Take Stock in Children–Broward County, a nonprofit organization that provides a unique opportunity for deserving low-income youth and students to escape the cycle of poverty through education.

The Market on University location will become the eighth Fitlife Foods location, as there are currently seven Fitlife Foods throughout the Tampa Bay region, as well as six kiosk spots in various locations, including: the Tampa Bay Ray’s, St. Anthony’s Hospital, Nutrition S’Mart, and Florida Hospital Health & Wellness Center.

Several more Fitlife locations are slated to open in South Florida over the next three years, including one later this month at Union Planters Plaza in Ft. Lauderdale.
