Texas-based Golden Chick has added two new additions to its rapidly expanding portfolio this week with two openings in Fort Worth and Houston. The chicken concept, known for its crisp, golden chicken offerings and freshly baked yeast rolls, is making good on its promises of historic growth as 2023 comes to a close.
The two new restaurant openings will mark the 16th and 17th to be celebrated this year, and the third and fourth in November. The locations are both part of multi-unit agreements possessed by tenured franchisees, Jim Stevens and Scott Stevenson, and franchisees Salim and Eliyan Muman, owner of Universal Food Corp LLC based out of Sugar Land, Texas. Both parties also currently have additional restaurants under construction and set to open within the next year.
“Celebrating our 16th and 17th 2023 openings in the same week is a testament to what we’ve been able to overcome in terms of construction delays and supply chain issues,” says Mark Parmerlee, CEO of Golden Chick. “Fort Worth and Houston have both been incredibly successful markets for us from both corporate and franchise growth perspectives. We’re eagerly awaiting Golden Chick’s continued growth in these areas as well as within our home state of Texas.”
2023’s aggressive growth has resulted from the brand’s growing desire to continue strengthening its footholds in already-prosperous markets as well as making its way into new states and trade areas. With upcoming openings planned in Las Vegas and Mississippi, Golden Chick is quickly creating new boundaries outside of its regional presence within U.S. states including Texas, Oklahoma, Florida and Louisiana.
“We’ve maintained our goal of achieving 10% overall store count growth this year in the face of multiple construction challenges,” adds Parmerlee “Arriving at our 17th opening makes this dream so much more tangible as we round out what has been a truly historic year for the brand.”
The first of the two openings, located at 6690 W Airport Blvd in Houston, Texas, opened on Monday, Nov. 20, and is owned and operated by franchisees Salim and Eliyan Muman, owner of Universal Food Corp LLC based out of Sugar Land, Texas. Muman currently owns the Golden Chick location in Houston situated on N. Houston Rosslyn Road, and has two additional Houston locations in the works for later this year and early next year on Galveston Avenue and FM 1960 W.
The second location can be found at 8677 N Beach St Fort Worth, and is the 16th location to be added to the franchise group, SX Three’s, growing portfolio. Owned by veteran franchisees, Jim Stevens and Scott Stevenson, this is SX Three’s second opening since October.
