GPS Hospitality, a rapidly growing Burger King and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen franchise, announced today that it is adding 11 Popeyes restaurants in its home state of Georgia.
The acquisition marks the company’s largest Popeyes deal since it announced its first expansion with the chicken quick service chain in April 2016 and increases GPS Hospitality’s total number of Popeyes in Georgia and West Virginia to 19.
“Throughout our first year with Popeyes, we’ve seen how much our guests love being able to enjoy the flavors of Louisiana in their own backyard,” says Tom Garrett, CEO of GPS Hospitality. “We’re happy to further our commitment to the brand as they celebrate their 45th year bringing the flavors of New Orleans to guests worldwide.”
In less than five years, the hospitality group has grown to operate nearly 400 restaurants and employs more than 10,000 employees nationwide. It owns more than 90 restaurants in Georgia alone.
Through its goal-focused and talent-oriented approach to franchise management, GPS Hospitality has attracted praise across the quick service restaurant industry and developed a reputation as a preferred franchisee to do business with among large operators.
GPS Hospitality was recently recognized by Franchise Times with a 2017 Franchise Times Dealmakers award for its 2016 acquisition of 194 Burger King restaurants. Additionally, the Atlanta chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) has nominated GPS as one of the fastest growing Georgia companies in 2016 for its June 22, 2017 awards ceremony.
