Häagen-Dazs announced today that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has listed Häagen-Dazs Shops on its official Franchise Registry.
The Franchise Registry is a compilation of franchise systems that have had their franchise agreement reviewed by the SBA, thereby shortening the loan process for franchise investors and ensuring a consistent eligibility decision.
“Häagen-Dazs is continually looking for ways to help ease the pressure for franchise investors to obtain a loan during a time when resources are not as readily available as they once were,” says Dan Ogiba, director of franchise development for Häagen-Dazs.
“Being listed on the SBA Franchise Registry means that franchise investors looking to capitalize on this Häagen-Dazs business opportunity will be able to move through the process more efficiently.”
With more than 250 U.S. locations in operation, Häagen-Dazs is positioned for unprecedented growth. Company plans include increasing the number of Häagen-Dazs Shops by ten percent annually in underdeveloped markets for the brand, including areas throughout Northern California, Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, and Hawaii.
In addition, the company is growing in markets where its footprint has been established, but where more growth potential exists. Regions where the brand has substantial room for growth include Southern California, Florida, and Metropolitan New York.
Among other benefits for franchisors such as Häagen-Dazs, being listed on the Franchise Registry minimizes legal reviews and expenses and provides an easy way to demonstrate a commitment towards a successful relationship with investors by helping them secure financing.
