Jack in the Box (NYSE:JBX) announced Monday that it will increase the size of its regular hamburger and cheeseburger by 66% without an increase in price.
Patty size for the basic hamburger and cheeseburger will increase from 1.6-ounces to 2.67-ounces. The new, larger patty will also be used in the double cheeseburger and two new menu items - a chili cheeseburger and a junior bacon cheeseburger.
The regular hamburger and cheeseburger will maintain a suggested retail price of 79-cents and 89-cents respectively. The double cheeseburger and the Jack’s Kids Meal will increase by 10-cents. The new burgers will be a part of Jack’s 99-cent value menu.
Dow Jones Newswires reports the move is intended to give customers more value.
