Jersey Mike’s Subs, Inc. is honoring National Disability Employment Awareness Month this October, by marking the fourth year of its partnership with Best Buddies International (“Best Buddies”), a nonprofit committed to fostering one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, inclusive living, and family support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) such as Down Syndrome and Autism.
Jersey Mike’s customers can support Best Buddies’ mission by rounding up their purchase to the nearest dollar or making a donation.
Beginning October 1, Jersey Mike’s customers can support Best Buddies’ mission to build a more inclusive world where everyone can thrive by rounding up their purchase to the nearest dollar or making a donation in-store, in app, or on the website at participating US locations nationwide. Third-party orders are not eligible. 100% of customer donations will be sent to Best Buddies. Donations are tax deductible.
“National Disability Employment Awareness Month is a time to recognize the value that people of all abilities bring to the workplace and our communities,” said Charlie Morrison, Chief Executive Officer of Jersey Mike’s. “Giving back is a core value at Jersey Mike’s and we’re proud to continue our partnership with Best Buddies for another year and support its work to expand opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”
Jersey Mike’s and Best Buddies have worked together since 2023 to expand employment opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. What started as a shared commitment has turned into real infrastructure, dedicated training, a candidate-matching process, and hiring practices that have helped bring Best Buddies participants into store teams across the country. Each year, the partnership has expanded its reach, signaling both organizations’ commitment to building workplaces where people with IDD can thrive.
“Jersey Mike’s has been an incredible partner and true champion of the Best Buddies mission,” said Anthony K. Shriver, Founder, Chairman & CEO of Best Buddies International. “Together, we’ve opened doors to meaningful employment and given countless individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities the chance to thrive and make friends in the workplace. We’re incredibly grateful for this partnership and excited about what we’ll continue to accomplish together.”
