KFC Hawaii added a local spin on one of the restaurant’s signature menu items, KFC Famous Bowls, by introducing May’s Teriyaki Chicken.

The May’s Teriyaki Chicken Famous Bowl comes with teriyaki-flavored chicken, teriyaki sauce, corn, and a garnish of chopped green onions, on top of either sticky rice or mashed potatoes. It is now available at all 27 KFC Hawaii restaurants statewide for a limited time. Rice will also now be a permanant side menu item.

“We localized our KFC Famous Bowls with May’s Teriyaki Chicken to cater to residents and visitors looking for local-style grinds,” says Steve Johnson, general manager of KFC Hawaii. “We’re also proud to continue to support local businesses such as May’s Hawaii, especially in a tough economy.”

KFC Hawaii introduced its May’s Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich in June 2008.

“We’re delighted that KFC Hawaii’s customers continue to enjoy the unique flavor of May’s Teriyaki,” says Ryan Day, executive chef and national sales manager of Palama Meat Company, the parent company of May’s Teriyaki. “It’s a great opportunity to share our products with even more customers.”
