Murphy joins Krispy Kreme from Kilpatrick Stockton, LLP, where he was a partner, member of the Kilpatrick Stockton executive committee and former deputy managing partner of the firm. He practiced in Kilpatrick Stockton’s Winston-Salem office in the area of corporate law, including business transactions and corporate governance, and has worked closely with Krispy Kreme in various professional capacities for more than 20 years.

His professional memberships include the American Bar Association and its Taxation Section and the North Carolina Bar Association and its Tax and Business Law Sections. Murphy is a noted lecturer on corporate issues and employee benefits and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America.
