In conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month at its recent annual Leadership Conference, la Madeleine Country French Cafe presented Susan G. Komen for the Cure with a $25,000 donation that will help fund cutting-edge research and life-saving community outreach projects.

“La Madeleine is honored to work with Susan G. Komen for the Cure in the fight against breast cancer and due to the positive response from our guests, we have renewed our ‘Card for the Cause’ in our 60 cafes,” says la Madeleine COO Phil Costner.

The “Card for the Cause” can be purchased at any la Madeleine Café for $35 and entitles guests to 10 percent off most purchases for one year. Previous cardholders may renew their “Card for the Cause” for $25. From September 29, 2010 through September 28, 2011, la Madeleine will donate 1 percent of the total purchases made by patrons that present a “Card for the Cause” (excluding alcohol and gift card sales) to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and has committed a minimum donation of $50,000.

“We take great pride in our food, our guests, and our local communities,” Costner says. “We were thrilled to recently present Susan G. Komen for the Cure with a $25,000 check and look forward to the opportunity to contribute again to such an important cause.”
