Marble Slab Creamery has announced the grand opening of a new Creamery in Kuwait. Located at Al Koot Mall Waterfront, the Creamery is owned and operated by Nejoud Boodai and is the first of its kind. Construction began in January of 2008, and in a quick six months, the Creamery opened its doors for business on June 13. The opening is supported by NexCen Brands Inc., parent company of Marble Slab Creamery.

“We are so excited to be introducing the first Marble Slab Creamery in Kuwait,” Nejoud Boodai says. “We know the people of Kuwait will enjoy having this American delicacy of fresh, gourmet, super premium ice cream.”

In addition to the Kuwait store, Marble Slab Creamery is heavily pursuing expansion opportunities throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Since September 2007 the company has opened 12 stores in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain and anticipates nine openings in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, and Saudi Arabia during 2008.

“Boodai Inc. has demonstrated an unparalleled passion for Marble Slab Creamery since they joined our Global family. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated and quality focused operator in Kuwait that will ensure every guest experience is truly exceptional,” says Tim Getty, president of Desert Rose Holdings.

“We are excited to expand our global presence and are proud to bring new gourmet products to Kuwait and other parts of the Middle East,” states Chris Dull, president of NexCen Franchise Management. “Marble Slab Creamery was the first in the Middle East to serve ice cream on a frozen slab in 2005, and is now the first in Kuwait.”
