Maui Wowi Hawaiian is coming soon to Shops at Mangrove in Chico, California. This is the first location for local franchisee Jules Jackson, who has big plans for her Hawaiian themed coffee and smoothie shop and her Northern California community.

The recently signed lease sets the stage for Maui Wowi’s newest location from which to serve its fruit smoothies, Hawaiian coffees, and espresso beverages. The menu fit the bill for Jackson as she searched for the ideal franchise to open in her community.

“My husband and I drink coffee every morning and he loves drinking fresh fruit smoothies,” Jackson says. “When we were looking at franchise opportunities, our goal was to find a brand we could stand behind. It was important that it had a health component that allows us to feel good about the product we serve. When we found Maui Wowi, our goal was met.”

Jackson’s other goals were to find a business that gave her greater autonomy as an independent business owner, while providing the ability to involve her family and her community. When she discovered that the essence of Maui Wowi was built around the power of the ‘ohana, the Hawaiian word for family, it was no surprise that this was the franchise for her.

The new Maui Wowi shop will settle in at its new location and become a place for the Chico community to enjoy. Whether as a meeting place, study spot, or quick pick-me-up, Jackson is adamant about making it the destination of choice. She hopes to attract more visitors by becoming involved with local non-profits and other organizations in fundraising efforts or other community focused events that can be hosted at the location.

“We are looking forward to sharing our product with our community and providing a relaxed Hawaiian feel and flavor for our customers,” she says.

Maui Wowi plans to begin construction shortly to transform the space across the street from lower Bidwell Park at 615 Mangrove Avenue, in Chico, California. The store is estimated to open in spring 2015.
