Mirus Helps Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Integrate Data

    Industry News | October 10, 2012

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has built a reputation as a movie lover’s oasis by combining food and drink service with unique programming to provide the ultimate movie-going experience. However, integrating data from the separate cinema and restaurant business operations initially presented a challenge for Alamo’s management team and IT director Daniel Legh-Page. The solution was Mirus Restaurant Solutions of Houston - a company with a history of integrating different POS systems for a single enterprise and proven success combining disparate data streams and delivering flexible ad hoc reports. IT director Legh-Page notes that before implementing Mirus, Alamo’s analysts were forced to manually compile and integrate ticketing and restaurant data:  “With Mirus, we can now generate timely ad hoc reports. The results have overcome our initial skepticism.”

Mirus CEO Dave Bennett is pleased and excited about this new venture that links data from the restaurant and the entertainment business.  “The strength of our system is the capability to integrate disparate data streams to produce valuable insights on the performance of the business,” says Bennett. “Working with the data from Alamo’s cinema/restaurant operation was a challenge, but I believe we were uniquely qualified to meet that challenge, and we did.”
