The Counter today announced the addition of Ed Casey to its corporate team as president and chief operating officer.
Prior to joining The Counter, Casey held several key positions with a variety of well-known concepts. He served as director of operations and franchise operations with Red Robin, vice president of operations and vice president of new concepts with T.G.I. Friday’s and vice president of operations and concept development with Rusty Pelican. In addition to his corporate accomplishments, Casey was an operating partner of an Applebees’s franchise, where he developed restaurants across California, Oregon, and Washington. Casey, along with his partner Ross Farro, is also currently a Baja Fresh Mexican Grill franchisee owning 22 locations throughout the Pacific Northwest.
When an associate introduced him to The Counter three years ago, Casey was immediately intrigued and watched as the brand increased in locations and popularity. Casey initially approached The Counter with the hopes of becoming a franchisee but, given his extensive experience in the industry, all parties agreed his skills would be best utilized through a corporate position.
“Having worked on the corporate side as well as on the franchisee side, I have seen the industry from all angles, giving me the proper perspective and experience to make a difference.” says Casey, 55, who joined The Counter on June 1st. “The Counter has already done an excellent job of articulating the company’s goals to its franchisees and it’s this open dialog, paired with its innovative concept, delicious product and enthusiastic individuals at every level, that leaves the concept perfectly positioned for tremendous growth.”
“Ed is exactly the kind of person we were looking for to help us continue to spread The Counter culture across the country,” said Jeff Weinstein, founder and CEO. “We’re excited to welcome him to our team and are confident he will not only meet but exceed our expectations.”
