Papa Gino's began in 1961 as a single East Boston pizza shop called Piece O’ Pizza, and D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches originally opened its doors as Ma Riva's Sub Shop in Dedham in 1967. Today, with almost 200 D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches restaurants and nearly 170 Papa Gino's restaurants, the brands serve more than 13 million guests annually, enjoying tremendous loyalty from both employees and guests.
