Penn Station East Coast Subs, the fast-casual restaurant known for its grilled, made-to-order sub sandwiches, hand-squeezed lemonade and fresh-cut fries, has added wraps to its menu. Any sandwich can be made into a wrap featuring the brand’s new cheddar jalapeno tortillas.

“We wanted to offer a lighter option that allows customers to still enjoy their favorite sandwich fillings without all of the bread,” says Craig Dunaway, president of Penn Station East Coast Subs. “The cheddar jalapeno flavor is different than a typical flour tortilla, but still mild enough to complement all 14 of our sandwich options. Wraps are portable and easy for consumers to eat as a carryout option. Off-premises consumption continues to be a growing part of our business, with almost 60 percent of our food being consumed off premises. The wrap is more portable, and we think lends itself very well to this off premises trend.”

Wraps will be the monthly special for March. Any sandwich can be made into a wrap with a small fresh-cut fry and regular drink for a suggested retail price of $6.99 throughout March.

“This is the first permanent change or addition we’ve made to the menu in 10 years, so it’s a big deal for us,” Dunaway says. “We’re planning on aggressively marketing our wraps in 2018 and 2019, which is why we’re launching this unique menu item as the monthly special for March.”
