Port of Subs, the iconic 50-year legacy sandwich brand, announced a regional development deal that is set to redefine the sub-sandwich experience across Minnesota. This expansion, for 60 units, marks a significant milestone for the legacy brand as it continues to bring its iconic offerings to new corners of the nation.
Port of Subs will develop the locations alongside Pat Mancuso, a serial entrepreneur who brings a background in residential property management and multi-unit franchise ownership in Minnesota with Keller Williams Real Estate. Mancuso was also a regional director for the brand, working closely with entrepreneurs interested in launching their franchises. He will work alongside his daughter, Ashley Mancuso, who serves as a partner and vice president of regional development operations for their new venture with Port of Subs.
“I first experienced Port of Subs at the Las Vegas airport and was immediately hooked,” says Pat. “The freshness of the daily baked proprietary bread, the upon-ordering sliced meats, and the fantastic Ghirardelli brownies blew me away. Port of Subs truly is a business that wants to be a part of the communities it serves. Whether that is partnering with local schools, catering to local businesses, or just getting to know your name when you walk in the door. It feels different from other food concepts, and I knew it would perform well in the Twin Cities.”
The development deal will bring Port of Subs’ exceptional quality and flavors to local communities in the 7-county metro area. The Mancuso’s aim to open the first location within the agreement in the next six months and at least 12 more in the next 18 months.
The Mancuso’s are on a mission, actively seeking passionate and sub-loving franchise candidates to join Port of Subs in its continued expansion throughout the Twin Cities. Alongside qualified restaurateurs, the Mancuso’s aim is to create an environment where in-store team members have an opportunity to grow and potentially partner with them to own their own franchise in the future. Communities across the Minneapolis and St. Paul metropolitan areas have been dubbed priorities in the site selection process.
“Pat and Ashley are fantastic partners to lead the charge in making Port of Subs a household name in the Twin Cities,” says Healey Mendicino, President of Port of Subs. “Not only are they experienced business owners and operators, but they are passionate about helping other entrepreneurs reach new heights in their careers, which is what we look for in our regional development operators. We look forward to working alongside them and their future partnerships with other like-minded individuals seeking opportunities in the [quick-service] space.”
