Georgia is about to get a whole lot toastier. Potbelly, the iconic neighborhood sandwich shop known for its warm, oven-toasted sandwiches, fresh ingredients and good vibes, will make its highly anticipated Peach State debut on Tuesday, Sept. 1 with the opening of its first Georgia shop at Peachtree Station Shopping Center in Chamblee.
The new shop represents much more than a single opening for Potbelly. It marks the brand’s entrance into one of the country’s most dynamic metropolitan markets and the beginning of a larger growth story taking shape across metro Atlanta.
The milestone carries added significance because Potbelly is planting its first Georgia roots in the home market of RaceTrac, Inc., which acquired Potbelly in 2025 and is adding more fuel to the brand’s continued expansion. Establishing the first Georgia shop here serves as both a meaningful benchmark in the brand’s growth and an opportunity to become part of the daily lives of the students, families, professionals and visitors throughout Chamblee and the surrounding communities.
“Arriving in Georgia is a significant step in our brand’s long-term growth journey, as we continue expanding into new markets and introducing more fans to our neighborhood shop experience,” said Adam Noyes, President at Potbelly. “We’re thrilled to introduce the great food and good vibes Potbelly is known for and to become a mealtime destination in the Chamblee community. This is an ideal place to begin an important chapter for Potbelly.”
The Chamblee opening is only the beginning of the brand’s journey in Georgia. Over the coming months, Potbelly plans to significantly expand its footprint throughout the region with a combination of company-owned and franchised shops. Those plans include an agreement with an experienced multi-unit operator to develop 15 Potbelly shops across the market over the next seven years, demonstrating the brand’s long-term commitment to metro Atlanta.
To celebrate the Chamblee opening, Potbelly in Chamblee will host a Grand Opening event on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon. The first 50 guests in line will receive Free Potbelly for a Year, and festivities will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Plinko games for a chance to win exclusive prizes and merchandise, and a lively atmosphere with balloons and giveaways.
The Chamblee shop will serve the brand’s well-known menu of toasty sandwiches and wraps, signature salads, hand-dipped shakes, and freshly baked cookies, offering guests a fast, fresh dining option for lunch, dinner, and everything in between.
Guests will have access to convenient ordering options, including pickup, delivery and catering for meetings, office lunches and special events. Regular hours will be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Delivery, order ahead and catering are available in-shop, through Potbelly.com and in the Potbelly App.
