Steak Escape announced that in a recent promotion giving customers a chance to win free wraps for a year it saw its e-newsletter sign-up rate jump 27 percent. The contest, which awarded four Steak Escape fans with the free wraps, simply required customers to register for the monthly e-newsletter, E-scape, in order to be entered.

“Our e-newsletter is a valuable communication tool for us to pass along special deals to our most loyal customers,” says Dave Smith, vice president of operations for Steak Escape, “and so we look for fun ways to spread the word about it. And clearly, this was an offer our customers liked.”

The four winners, who are from Tustin, California; Memphis, Tennessee; Madison, Wisconsin; and New Orleans were chosen from all new and existing subscribers to the e-newsletter. Customers could sign up through Steak Escape’s Web site, or by dropping a business card in specially marked containers at the restaurants.
